My office highly recommended the pizza from Portland Pie Co, and boy did they deliver. Ordered on a Friday at 5 and picked up at 5:40. The bartender who greeted me was incredibly nice and even allowed me to add a to go beverage. The food as seen in the pictures was delicious. The nachos are loaded! See you soon for our next pizza night. Kudos to a great staff as well.
Let me start by saying I have Crohn's disease which has led to me needing a gluten free diet/lifestyle. Pizza has been a rocky road ever since going gluten free because nothing has really been worth it. However, this pizza may single-handedly be the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. We helped a friend move into their new home this weekend in Portland and ordered Portland pie co for dinner after we were all done moving. It was the best decision ever. My boyfriend and his friends are all gluten lovers - they got a garlic crust with cheese, pepperoni, caramelized onions, pineapple, and burnt ends and they all LOVED it. Bonus points for the side of hot honey that they drizzled over the pizza. The two gluten free friends in the group (me included) got a pizza with half feta, pepperoni, and broccoli and half feta, pepperoni, caramelized onions, and green peppers. I am so sad my boyfriend and I live in Boston, because this would be a constant place we hit up for pizza. The pizza was nothing short of perfect and may just land as the best place for gluten free pizza in my heart. My boyfriend rates the gluten pizza as a 9.5/10 I would rate the gluten free pizza as a 10/10 easily. We can't wait to return to Portland for more pizza!
The specialty pizzas we tried came out delicious, quite quickly, and at the perfect temperature to start eating immediately. We we checked on multiple times before and after ordering. Very reasonable prices. No wait for seating on Friday at dinner time. Hadn't been in over a decade, and they were better than I had remembered.
Staying at courtyard nearby. 3-6 was happy hour so it made our meal for family of 4 very affordable. The beer pizza and desserts were all out of this world. Blueberry cheesecake and brookie were so good. Better than fancy restaurant desserts.
This is the best thin crust pizza I have ever eaten! We ordered a 14" Old Port pepperoni pizza with garlic crust. The pepperoni is thin and tasty. We shared the Blueberry Cheesecake slice. Heavenly! The waitress was super good and helpful, the environment was casual and the restaurant was clean. If we lived close to a Portland Pie location, it would be my daily guilty pleasure!
I sadly did not get photos of the inside as we were rushing to get slices and then sit somewhere with our dog. However the inside has a fun atmosphere and the pizza was so yummy. Got a pepperoni, margarita pizza and bbq chicken. All were amazing! Would go back if we go back to Portland again!
Portland Pie Company puts out a great 20 oz. bag of white or wheat dough that is ideal for making pizza pie. My wife says it’s the easiest dough to work with and I figure she’s made over 1,900 pies for us, starting off with Goodhue’s dough years ago. Why rectangular and not round? It’s no problem for her. I tried forming it that way, it came out looking like the map of Albania. Available at Hannaford markets. Soo good.
Amazing food and staff. Tried loaded baked potato pizza. Was delicious. Gonna try the chicken and waffle pizza next time !!
